Let there be Light. When the Light Group, best known for Light and Jet nightclubs, took over Bare this year, it brought a new ray of hedonistic sunshine onto the scene. But on to the Bare facts: tops are optional, drinks are bottomless and with its slew of celeb fans, anything can happen. It’s a venue that’s been created for guests to dive headfirst into the fun. “We’re going to be doing entertainment-type things,” says Alex Acuna, Bare’s PR Director. “We’ll have guest DJ’s spinning the house scene – we had Donald Glaude for the opening. We’ll also be having parties and contests, as well as fashion shows and a Hawaiian Tropic event.” To get you in the party mood, Bare offers all of the traditional frozen drinks, as well as pitchers of strawberry mojitos, bloody marys and sangria. Private cabanas can be rented for $350 a day, plus a $300 food and beverage minimum. The contemporary 250-seat venue has towering palm trees and two luxury dipping pools, as well as DJ-spun music to create a lively ambiance. “We’ve redone the sound system, and we’ve changed the food offerings,” Acuna says. “The menu is now a playful mix of small dish items, such as mini lobster tacos, chips and guacamole, and shrimp lettuce wraps.” When it gets too hot, ask a staff member for chilled cucumbers for your eyes, an iced towel or a super-chilled Evian misting bottle.
