Summer’s not quite here, but the time is right for sunbathing. While most cities would be content with skimpy bikinis (and those pesky tan lines), Euro-style is the only way to go, as far as Las Vegas’ hotel-casinos are concerned. The Mirage introduced the Bare pool last year, but the Light Group has since taken it over, and will continue to cultivate its adults-only atmosphere in 2007. Prepare to be pampered at one of the V.I.P. cabanas if the poolside lounge chairs aren’t relaxing enough. A special summer drink menu – once you order a pitcher of Bare’s mojitos you’ll never go back – light food fare and ambiance provided by a Light Group DJ makes the decision to imbibe during the day a no-brainer. A heat-controlled V.I.P. pool on the raised deck lies at the far end of the main pool, with its opaque side facing outward to create a human aquarium. The staff offers complimentary service to each guest, including chilled cucumber slices for anyone who forgot their shades, iced towels, frozen fruit on skewers, popsicles, smoothie shots and misting bottles for those too lazy to hop in the water. Bare can be rented after 7 p.m. for private parties for a cool $2,000 per hour, although it remains to be seen how well Euro-style moonbathing will catch on.
