  • caramel-bar-lounge-las-vegas dark knightSo last night I went and saw the one of the most anticipated movies of the summer, if not the year - The Dark Knight. With the movie hyped as much as it was I was a bit nervous to see if the film would live up to expectations - it definitely did. Yet again, because of an event we had (this time it was at Caramel) I was able to score tickets to a special sneak-peak screening of the film prior to its release. If you haven't made it out to one of LG's movie release parties I'd highly recommend heading over to one. Venues change weekly, so just check out LG's event calendar to see where the next one is going to be. Then come and stay for a drink (or four) and score a pair of free tickets to an upcoming movie - can't beat that. Well anywho, back to Batman.

So I don't want to ruin anything for you, but Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker brought an element of psychotic realism to the character and brought the comic book villain to life. Critics are calling Ledger's performance Oscar worthy (I agree), and it wouldn't surprise me at all if the late actor receives a nomination for his role. This film also reinforces that Christian Bale is the perfect choice for Bruce Wayne/Batman. His grasp of Batman's duality and his struggle of finding his own sense of self is spot on and add to the film's dynamic. Oh and since I won't ruin anything, just know that Aaron Eckhart does an amazing job as Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent. His transformation throughout the film is something that you really wouldn't expect - unless you're a comic book fanatic like me.

Well that's all for now - so go watch the film and see for yourself!

    Till next time!
